Setting up tip options for your staff members allows customers to reward excellent service during checkout. This process involves configuring percentage tiers, fixed amounts, and previewing the customer experience. Proper tip configuration can help increase staff satisfaction and streamline payment workflows.
To configure tip options
- Navigate to Settings. The Settings menu opens.
- Select Payments from the Settings menu. The Payments configuration screen appears.
- Choose Tips within Payments. The tip configuration options are displayed.
- Enable tips by clicking the Enable Tips option. Tip settings become active for configuration.
- Set up to three different percentage tip tiers for customers. The percentage tiers are shown as selectable options during checkout. Note: You can highlight one percentage tier as the recommended option, which will stand out on the billing page.
- Set a fixed amount threshold. Customers will only see percentage tip options if their bill exceeds this threshold; otherwise, they will be offered fixed tip amounts. Note: Fixed tip amounts can be customised.
- Preview how the tip options will appear to customers. The preview displays the customer-facing tip selection interface.
- Save your settings. The tip configuration is applied and ready for customer use. Important: Remember to save your settings to ensure changes take effect.

Previewing the customer experience helps ensure your tip configuration works as intended and provides a seamless checkout process.
To experience tip selection as a customer
- Go to Bookings. The bookings list appears.
- Select an example booking. The booking details are displayed.
- Proceed to checkout. The checkout process begins.
- Complete the usual booking steps. The customer reaches the tip selection screen.
- Review the tip options presented. If the service amount exceeds your set threshold, the customer sees percentage tip tiers. Otherwise, fixed tip amounts are shown. Note: Customers can choose a tier, enter a custom tip, or—for example—select 10%.
- Click Next to complete the payment. The payment is processed and the tip is applied.
