Add a Customer and Their Pet

Adding a customer and their pet from the admin side ensures that all relevant information is stored in the system for future reference, appointments, and service management. This process involves entering customer details, then associating a pet profile with the customer. Accurate data entry helps streamline operations and improves customer service.

To add a customer and their pet

  1. Navigate to the Customers section from the admin dashboard. The Customers page appears, displaying the list of existing customers.
  2. Click New Customer. The New Customer form opens.
  3. Enter the customer's first name, last name, mobile number, and email address in the respective fields. The form captures the essential customer information.
  4. (Optional) Add additional information such as notes or address if available. These details are saved with the customer profile. Note: Including notes or address can help personalize customer interactions and improve record accuracy.
  5. Click Create Customer. The new customer profile is created and added to the customer list.
  6. Select the newly created customer profile from the customer list. The customer profile page opens, showing customer details and associated pets.
  7. Go to the Pets section within the customer profile. The Pets area displays any existing pets and options to add new ones.
  8. Click Add Pet. The Add Pet form appears.
  9. Enter the pet's name in the designated field. The pet name is recorded for identification.
  10. Choose the pet type (e.g., dog, cat) from the available options. The form updates to show relevant fields for the selected pet type.
  11. Select the dog breed from the breed dropdown (if applicable). The breed information is saved with the pet profile.
  12. Specify the coat type in the provided field. The coat type is recorded for grooming and care purposes.
  13. Enter the pet's weight. The weight is saved for health and service records.
  14. Select the pet's gender. The gender is recorded in the pet profile.
  15. (Optional) Add the pet's date of birth. The date of birth is saved for age tracking and service recommendations.
  16. (Optional) Update grooming session details and frequency. Grooming information is stored for scheduling and service planning.
  17. (Optional) Include any notes about the pet. Notes are saved for staff reference and personalized care.
  18. Click Save or Add Pet to complete the process. The pet profile is added and associated with the customer. Note: Both customer and pet information are now successfully stored in the system.
